Harold Stinger, Chairman of the Board

Harold Stinger is an accomplished engineering professional and entrepreneur. Mr. Stinger has over 40 years of experience in systems engineering, specializing in satellite telemetry reduction systems, photographic laboratory processors, and communications equipment. Prior to founding SGT, in 1994, Mr. Stinger held progressively responsible management positions in the engineering field with companies that included Computer Sciences Corporation, Lockheed Martin and Swales Aerospace. He has held key positions on numerous NASA missions, beginning in the late 1960s, and continues to provide guidance and insight to SGT's engineers supporting NASA projects underway today.

Mr. Stinger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and an Honorary Doctorate from Capitol College.

Mr. Stinger is the Executive Vice President of the Maryland Space Business Roundtable. He is on the Board of Trustees at the Capitol College in Laurel, Maryland, and is Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Washington Bible College / Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland. Harold was on NASA’s Minority Business Resource Advisory Committee for 4 years. He serves in the Maryland DLLR as Director of the Aerospace Sector for the Maryland Governor's Workforce Investment Board. He serves in the Maryland Department of Economic Development as Commissioner for Science and Technology.

He is the Senior Pastor of a large Baptist church in Leesburg Virginia where he has served for 20 years.

Dr. Kam Ghaffarian, President and CEO

With over 25 years of visionary leadership, Dr. Kam Ghaffarian has been a successful entrepreneur dedicated to creating a company that is focused on employee well-being and operating with the highest integrity, while delivering the best technical solutions to his customers.

An accomplished corporate strategist and marketer, his vision and expertise have successfully taken a small engineering services company, which he and his business partner started in 1994, from just a dream to a company with offices nationwide and revenues exceeding $240M annually.

As President and Chief Executive Officer of SGT, Dr. Ghaffarian has been an integral part of the company’s notable growth and success. His ability to identify opportunities that align with the company strengths and cultivate business relationships with both partners and customers has resulted in continuous growth and a sound industry reputation. Most significant however has been his belief that to be successful you must do what you are passionate about. This mindset has kept him focused and committed to achieving his goals each step of the way.

In addition to establishing the framework and infrastructure necessary to continue the balanced growth of SGT, Dr. Ghaffarian enjoys the opportunity to mentor other small businesses, as well as contribute to the betterment of the community. Under his leadership, the company has developed partnerships with disadvantaged schools and provided intern opportunities for students in science, engineering and project management programs.

Before co-founding SGT in 1994, Dr. Ghaffarian held numerous technical and management positions with companies that included Lockheed Martin, Ford Aerospace, and Loral. In these positions he quickly established a reputation for his entrepreneurial spirit and ability to solve complex and technically challenging problems as well as develop new business opportunities.

Dr. Ghaffarian’s technical experience is in the fields of aerospace systems engineering and information technology. His accomplishments and success can be attributed to his commitment to education. He has obtained two Bachelors of Science degrees including a B.S. in Computer Science in Engineering and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering , a Masters of Science in Information Management and a PhD in Management Information Systems.

Joe Morway, CFO

As Chief Financial Officer, Joe oversees financial planning, corporate accounting and reporting, tax, treasury, business management, business systems and earned value management.  Joe has over 20 years of management experience in business finance.  After earning an MBA in Finance from the Florida Institute of Technology, Joe worked as a management consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick.  Following KPMG, he was the Controller at Dynamics Systems, Inc., and later joined the Andrulis Corporation as CFO and Vice President of Finance and Administration.  Joe has specific expertise in strategic planning, funding growth companies, treasury management/financial management, creating financial control processes, planning and implementing mergers and acquisitions, and leading corporate infrastructure organizations.

Dave Wolt, Senior Vice President, NASA Business Unit

Dave Wolt is a seasoned business leader with over 30 years of Technical and Managerial leadership experience. Mr. Wolt’s experience includes Management of Engineering Service Contracts for NASA, Development of life critical Air Traffic Control equipment for the FAA and Aviation Administration’s around the globe, production of military airborne avionics and ground communications equipment for the DoD and Satellite ground systems for National Agency customers.

In Mr. Wolt’s current position as the Sr. VP of Technical Operations and Deputy to SGT’s President, he has full responsibility and authority for the successful execution of the majority of SGT’s programs including METS, TSSC, CPSC, GGSG, GISS, MOMS (sub), NENS (sub), TIALS, and PSS-2 . Collateral duties include managing SGT’s center of excellence for IT Security, the Network Technologies Solutions Group.
Prior to joining SGT, Mr. Wolt worked for Litton Industries (later acquired by Northrop Grumman Corporation) for a period of 25 years rising to the leadership position of a $100M group consisting of two diverse P&L centers (Denro Systems and SATCOM Systems). Denro Systems provides voice communications systems for worldwide critical Defense and aviation applications including 24x7 O&M contracts. SATCOM Systems was responsible for designing, manufacturing, installing and providing world-wide field support of SATCOM Ground terminals ranging from small VSAT Terminals up to major hubs with 11+ meter antennas. This work was at the TSC/ SCI level
Mr. Wolt’s formal education includes an MBA from American Graduate University, a BSEE for the Polytechnic Institute of New York and numerous executive training programs at the Smith School of Business, Harvard Business School and the Center for Creative Leadership.

Dr. Andy Endal

Dr. Endal has 35 years experience in scientific research, space and ground systems engineering, and program management.  His program management experience includes contracts with up to 400 staff members in diverse environments (scientific analysis, systems engineering, and data center operations) for multiple agencies.  His systems engineering experience includes requirements analysis, architecture development, system design, and system modeling for large-scale space mission and data processing systems.  Dr. Endal has a Ph.D. in astrophysics, with 75 publications in scientific journals, covering applications of numerical simulations and computational fluid dynamics to research in astrophysics, solar physics, and climate change.

As Senior Vice President and Manager of the SGT Civil Business Unit, Dr. Endal is responsible for successful execution of contracts with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and for expanding SGT’s business into the other non-NASA civilian federal agencies.  He has been the successful Capture Manager for many of SGT’s largest contracts.

Prior to joining SGT, Dr. Endal held faculty positions at Kansas State University and Louisiana State University, and management positions at Applied Research Corporation, Space Applications Corporation, Steven Meyers & Associates, and L3 Communications.  He has held Fellowships sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences, NATO, and the American Society for Engineering Education.

Duane Deal, Senior Vice President, National Security Programs

Duane Deal (Brigadier General, USAF, Retired) leads the SGT National Security Programs Business Unit. Under his leadership, the business unit focuses on expanding SGT's presence in the National Security marketplace.

Prior to joining SGT, General Deal was the Director of National Security Space Programs for The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. While serving in this role, he led the renowned laboratory's customer engagement, concept development, and program management for national security space operations and programs.

Prior to Johns Hopkins, General Deal served as Commander of the Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center. As Commander, his responsibilities included executing the United States Northern Command homeland defense mission. He also commanded the Air Force’s geographically largest wing, the 6,200-person 21st Space Wing with 35 locations across 9 time zones responsible for the nation’s space surveillance and space control missions. He has extensive experience in USAF space operations, maintenance, logistics, and also in flight operations where he piloted 7 Air Force aircraft, including the SR-71.

He holds a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. in Education, an M.S. in Systems Management, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration. He served as a Fellow with both the RAND Corporation and the Harvard Center for International Affairs. General Deal has served on national commissions, including the Columbia Accident Investigation Board and the Defense Science Board Task Force.

Matt Yetman, Vice President, Business Operations

Matt Yetman has 25 years of experience in contracts and finance related areas. Since 1997 he has led SGT’s business operations areas including contracts, legal, pricing, planning, security, facilities and has led SGT’s business infrastructure in growth to over $240M in sales. Prior to SGT Matt worked as Accounting Manager for Lockheed Martin and has held prior positions in public accounting and in the financial services sector.

Matt holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a CPA from the State of Maryland.

Matt serves as volunteer CFO for the Riverhill Interfaith Center a not-for-profit organization located in Clarksville Maryland.

Brian Bolger, Vice President, Quality

Mr. Bolger has worked in the engineering services business for over 25 years. Most of that time has been spent supporting NASA flight projects and communications organizations. He has managed contracts/subcontracts at GSFC, KSC, and the USGS EROS Data Center. As Quality Officer for SGT, he is responsible for leading the corporate Quality Management System and for coordinating external quality certifications such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and CMMI.

Charlie Goorevich, Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Goorevich has over 30 years of experience in providing federal mission-specific science and engineering services. He delivers solutions that encompass development and integration of large and complex mission systems involving all aspects of Information Technology.
As the SGT Deputy of Business Development, Charlie works closely with the SGT President and COO in establishing the company’s strategic direction, establishing the business development operations plans and associated budgets, managing the pipeline of new opportunities, and through continuous improvement refining the company’s business development processes.

Charlie came to SGT from Perot Systems Government Services (PSGS), where he was the Executive Vice President and General Manager, of the Science and Technology Division. He held profit and loss responsibility for over 800 employees and $128,000,000 of annual work supporting three agencies, NASA, NOAA, and DOE. PSGS was acquired from QSS Inc. where Charlie as a VP of Business Development, directed new business focusing on Army and government-wide acquisition contracts (GWACs) for Department of Homeland Security and government services administration.

Prior to joining QSS, Charlie held senior- level positions at Computer Sciences Corporation - including managing the day-to-day operations of a 1000 person organization with annual revenue of $220M. At CSC, Charlie also provided leadership in all aspects of new business development - and served as Capture Manager on several of the company's largest opportunities. Charlie holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Eric Clemons, Vice President of Advanced Business Unit

Eric Clemons leads the Advanced Programs Business Unit. Under his leadership, the business unit is chartered to develop new SGT capabilities, by leveraging core competencies and corporate resources and to provide solutions in advance of new and evolving markets.

Mr. Clemons has over 25 years of experience in aerospace science and engineering, including space and ground systems with an emphasis in Earth Science.  Mr. Clemons was the Director of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center.  As the Director he was responsible for the operation of the Center, managing nearly 700 personnel, operational activities and initiatives, and a budget of $86M per year.  Prior to this, he served as the Deputy Director for NOAA’s Office of Systems Development and Office of Satellite Operations.  From 2002 through 2003, Mr. Clemons was a Program Executive with NASA Headquarters.  Before his years of government service, Mr. Clemons worked for several large government integrators including Lockheed Martin.
Mr. Clemons earned his Master’s Degree in Space Systems Management from Webster University and his Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/Geology from Potsdam College of Arts and Science.
