The purpose of the Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services II (OMES II) contract is to provide multi-discipline engineering support services and related work at NASA Goddard to the AETD Directorate and its assigned projects, such as JPSS and SSCO. This includes the the study, design, systems engineering, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification, and operations of space flight, airborne, and ground system hardware and software, including development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions.
SGT expects the Phase-In to occur during the May/June 2017 time frame and the OMES II contract to start sometime in mid June 2017 with a contract period of five years.
The OMES II scope of work encompasses components, subsystems, systems, science instruments, and spacecraft, suborbital craft (e.g., aircraft, sounding rockets, UAVs, balloons), including free-flying spacecraft, suborbital craft payloads, and Space Station payloads as well as ground support equipment, simulators, non-flight models, and prototypes; candidate, feasibility, and systems definition studies; project management; systems engineering; analysis; preliminary design; detailed design; fabrication; assembly; integration; test and verification; test instrumentation; data systems management; launch and post-launch operations; research and technology unique to system development; parts and materials; documentation; maintenance; sustaining engineering; configuration management; performance assurance; systems safety; and contamination control.. The majority of work will be performed on the NASA GSFC Campus and nearby off-site contractor facilities located in Greenbelt, MD.
